== Types of Artificial Intelligence == There are two main categories of AI: === Narrow AI (Weak AI) === '''Narrow AI''' refers to AI systems that are designed to perform a '''specific task'''. These systems are limited in their ability to handle tasks outside of their programmed purpose. Examples of Narrow AI include: * Virtual assistants (like Siri, Alexa) * Email filters (spam detection) * Self-driving cars Narrow AI is '''task-specific''', meaning it is very good at performing one type of job but cannot generalize to other tasks. === General AI (Strong AI) === '''General AI''' is a type of AI that would be capable of performing any intellectual task that a human being can do. This type of AI does not yet exist, but it is the long-term goal of AI research. If achieved, General AI would be able to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across different domains, much like a human.
